Remove the centre
Cancel whatever's panned dead centre, usually the vocal, bass and kick, so the guitar or keys on either side come forward. Or listen to the left or right channel on its own.
Learn songs by ear. Slow them down without changing the pitch, loop the bar you're stuck on, and pull the part you're after out of the mix.

Drag low-cut and high-cut filters over a live spectrum of the music, so you can see where the bass line sits and cut everything else away.
Anywhere from 25% to 150% speed without the chipmunk effect. Shift the pitch up or down a semitone (or a few cents) to match a detuned recording or your capo.
Drag across the waveform to loop a passage. The beats and bar lines are found for you, and loops snap to them, even when the band speeds up.
Start slow and step the speed up every few repeats, until you're playing along at the speed you're aiming for.
A count-in of 2 to 8 clicks before each repeat, in time with the song at the speed you're playing it, so you can get your hands back in position.
The key and chords are worked out when a song opens and shown above the waveform (with a capo if you use one). Open the notes view to see which notes are sounding, and click a key to check one by ear.
Speed, pitch, loops, named sections, markers and chord edits are saved with each song. Songs are recognised by their contents, so renaming or moving a file loses nothing.
Export a loop, repeated as often as you like, or the whole track as a WAV at your speed, pitch and sound settings, to practise with on your phone.
Nearly everything has a key: Space to play, [ and] to set a loop, − and = for speed, 1–9 to jump between sections.
Opens MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A/AAC, OGG Vorbis and AIFF. Light and dark themes.
Everything runs locally: decoding, slowing down, beat and chord detection. Nothing is uploaded, there's no account, and the app doesn't call home.
